about me

grace an ordinary girl who doesnt understand herself. she is extremely confused and slightly eccentric, nothing else

reach my prismic soul
A crazy lunatic who babbles nonsense from time to time. Typical fangirl. Kills people in the graveyard behind the house, then digs their brains out to cook healthy soup for the severely undernourished body. Ain't an educated person but just a rote learner. She might be considered as a young adult in 2008 but she behaves like a three year old kid. Mood swings are not uncommon. Has a soft spot for artistic people, cute soft toys, chocolates, donuts, muffins and colours. Lanky/skilled footballers too. She does not really plan for the future and hates making important decisions. In essence, if you know me you know me.

< Sunday, February 26>

hmms, dunno wad to blog about.
=x zombied through the first half of the day...

anyway, the gp tutor went through more questions on the handout. i totally screwed up when he asked for my opinion abt question seven... here's how the question's like: Describe two policies you would like the government of your country to change and explain why.
guess wad ???

i said capitalism ...wow, that's like totally not answering the qn lars. no wonder i sound so weird. =/ i meant to say capital punishment. haha, nvm

was rathered intrigued by two of the qns tho...shall write the simplified essay plans of them here...hahax, cos i did that same stoopid mistake again~~
scribbled everything on one piece of paper, making it look so rubbish-fied and crappi`fied.
argh!

*note: i am not against any religion..only merely stating the reasons ya? pls do not venture beyond this point if u think you will be offended

Why are increasing numbers of people turning to religion in both less developed and developed countries?
Karl Marx says, "Religion is the opium of the masses." He feels that the idea of God and/or a superior being is actually the invention of certain rulers, to keep the people in place and to prevent them from revolting.
It is human nature to seek solace and an explanation for things that are happening aroung us...
For the developed countries, the reasons are:
1) increasing anxiety and insecurity because of the fast-paced modern society we are living in...faith in a higher power gives them relief and comfort :)
2) it may be a form of socialising, esp. for the younger generation where they can meet and interact with other ppl of the same age ---> a sense of community, identity and belonging is instilled this way...
3) gives purpose and meaning to life???
4) (successful and rich middle-aged ) people are disillusioned by materialistic things... they may have already achieved the five Cs and want sth more meaningful out of life...
5) terrorism...???

For the less developed countries,
1)people pray for blessings in face of pending natural disasters or those that already happened, i.e. famine, drought, epidemics
2) over a third of the Africans suffer from AIDS, they may turn to religion as they are promised a miraculous cure by some churches...

ayyes. actually some reasons are common for both developed and less developed countries...ahahahahs...i sooo do not study the behaviour/psychology of ppl so don't expect the above to be flawless=p
haix. me getting lazy alrdy. but i will preserVE ON~~~

next up! "Reality TV is a sad reflection of the modern society." Comment.

NO... they are about real people in real situations. some ppl may argue that reality tv is a great form of entertainment as they are unpredictable and exiting to watch, unlike the usual serial dramas...

YES...we become voyeuristic.
1) intrusive and prying into the privacy of others...
2) we seem to enjoy watching other people being embarrassed or humiliated.
3) Reality TV may promote the wrong moral values in us... young children may think that it is okay to betray, connive, backstab and conspire in order to win the money...???

hmmms, i dont reall know what i am typing abt.
