about me

grace an ordinary girl who doesnt understand herself. she is extremely confused and slightly eccentric, nothing else

reach my prismic soul
A crazy lunatic who babbles nonsense from time to time. Typical fangirl. Kills people in the graveyard behind the house, then digs their brains out to cook healthy soup for the severely undernourished body. Ain't an educated person but just a rote learner. She might be considered as a young adult in 2008 but she behaves like a three year old kid. Mood swings are not uncommon. Has a soft spot for artistic people, cute soft toys, chocolates, donuts, muffins and colours. Lanky/skilled footballers too. She does not really plan for the future and hates making important decisions. In essence, if you know me you know me.

< Sunday, February 19>

ayye, just came back home.

sat

woke up quite early to go petanque training. met yee sam in front of breadtalk...heh heh sorry fren, i was soooo late

reached there and did some drills, guessed i improved a bit but my hand's not straight.
ermms. still lousy =x
getting the metal balls into the tyre is fun la! gives greAT senSe of accomplishment, lols!
i and yee sam also helped out the sports boule pple. learnt that they have to run for five minutes...which is, so loooong~
after training, yee sam followed me back to my hse and we used the comp.
after she left, i went for math tuition, was dreaDing it...cos i have to take a very looong bus ride to kovan and theresa wont be there cos she has CIP to do~

smuggled chocolates into the bus(upper deck) and ate them quietly. wanted to read sth along the way but lazy to take it out frm my bag=/

ms chee went superrr fast again, i really admire her manz, she can go on doing math qns for two whole hrs, not feeling the least bit tired *grins*
she also mentioned that ny's math standard CMI =S ahhahahas

wells, i better stop all these mindless ramblings. my purpose of blogging today is to rewrite the GP essay plan..i scribbled everything the teacher said on the handout..which resulted in unnecessary headaches for myself...cos i really cant read anything now -__________________-

"In a long run, tourism is detrimental to the well-being of a nation." Discuss.
Disadvantages that Tourism inflicts outweigh the advantages it brings in the long run...Tourism does more harm than good in terms of the social, environmental and economical consequences that iit gives.

cultural benefits: dispels prejudice and makes us more tolerant of other cultures.
cultural erosion: traditional lifestyles disrupted, esp so in Bali. problem of urbanisation. tendency to create pseudo-culture to attract tourists. exploitation...exquisite handicraft being cheaply mass-produced
social(-): resentment in the locals, envy the richer tourists...tourists look down on the locals, esp if it is a poor country

economic gains: considerable source of income for many countries, 20% of Sg's revenue is from tourism, create employment
economic (-): alot of people forget that money earned by tourism does not stay in the country...multinational hotel and restaurants chains have to divide the profits among the shareholders etc.

environmental(-): air and noise pollution. lack of sanitation. resources being consumed to their maximum. pristine beaches and forests being developed into tourists resorts...affects the ecosystem.
